Impulse prepares for Web Broker Consultants

Impulse is announcing a sister service today to target a different market. Recently, I was introduced to the idea of 'flipping websites', an idea similar to flipping houses. It's the same principle - find a website that needs some TLC, purchase it, fix it up and then resell it for a profit.

There are currently a couple websites out there that are involved with this 'online marketplace' and are providing website broker type services for the buying and selling of websites.

However, Web Broker Consultants will be a little different. Initially, our aim is to provide consulation services for those individuals or businesses that have higher price point projects and are seeking the services of web development companies or individuals. Many businesses have a general idea or big picture of what they want online, but do not have the technical jargon or lingo to communicate that to other people. Being in the web development/online business for 5 years dealing with a wide array of clients has provided us with this unique opportunity. Our aim is to help our clients find the right development resource that is applicable and capable for the job. We work as a liason between the client and the web development firm, from the initial meeting to the last line of code, we are there.

Our goals are 3 fold:

1. Finding the right resource for our clients
2. Providing a bridge of knowledge and communication between our clients and the web firm
3. Seeing the project come to a successful fruition from start to finish

We are currently working on a new website for the company and hope to have it completed by mid-July.

You buy cheap you buy twice

So my wife's boss always says.

But I have to agree with him on this one - sort of like 'you get what you paid for'.

If you pay $300 to your wife's second cousin's brother who has tinkered with HTML you will get a website that looks like a 3rd grader designed it.

I've gotten that phone call before - "I hate the way my website looks", "The guy who did my website didn't know what he was doing", etc.

You wouldn't expect to get a Mercedes Benz for the price of a Geo Prizm would you?

Impulse Web Solutions adds feedburner to homepage

I signed up for a feedburner account today and found a really cool tool where you can copy and paste some script into your website and it outputs your blog entries into your existing website for you.

You can specify certain parameters such as how much text to show, where to place the date, if you want to show the author or not, how many blog entries to show, etc.

Was talking geek to a web buddy of mine last night and we were discussing new trends in the market and brainstorming on ways to make money online.

He mentioned 'flipping websites' and since I had never heard of that, I asked what he meant.

So basically, here's the process, which is similar to flipping a house:

Google Street View

This is pretty cool - you can drag and drop the little human icon to a street and then a screenshot pops up. The screenshot allows you to do a 360 degree view of that street. The camera icon appears at locations with available street views.

Also, once you have the Street View open, you can click on the overlaid white arrows in the image and continue to go down the street within the street view, as if you were driving down the road yourself!
