10 RULES FOR WRITING HOME PAGE COPY AND TEXT

Here is a great article from Susan Greene on writing home page copy.

Because the home page is the first page most of your visitors will see, it’s also the most important page. Its purpose is to grab the readers’ attention and help them find information quickly and easily. If your home page lacks facts or is confusing, your visitors will click off before they ever gets a chance to know you. Here are some tips for ensuring your home page is effective:

How to put Visio presentation online

We recently helped a local business implement a creative web solution by putting a Visio diagram presentation online.

The presentation is hosted with a 3rd party hosting company using an ip address only (this way they don’t have to buy a domain name).

The presentation is password protected and is only accessible by those with the correct permissions (username and password).

The presentation can be viewed anywhere a client or employee has internet access.

Why do I need a website?

I found this great article today on the benefits of a website and how it can help with specific industries such as restaurants, professional services, retail and trade.

According to the article, a website can help you:

“maintain a corporate presence and make yourself accessible to your clients.  Unlike a bricks & mortar shop, a website can have it’s doors open 24/7.  Unlike a brochure or magazine advertisement, a website can be relied on for the most up-to-date information.”

A website can:

• create a corporate presence – if you are a large company clients would expect to be able to find out about you online

• sell products directly to the public

• generate and qualify leads

• gather feedback to help you improve your product or service

• compete with big business

• extend your trading hours

• expand your market

• save time by answering common questions online
